The construction of the existing stone building in the style of early classicism began in 1759, the new owner of the estate, Prince M. M. Golitsyn . After various delays, construction was completed in 1784–87. led by Rodion Kazakov . The temple was ravaged by Napoleonic troops, expelled under the supervision of D. Gilardi , re-consecrated in 1813.
In the middle of the 19th century, a clock was installed on the bell tower, and new marble iconostases made by M. D. Bykovsky were made in the main church and its aisles.
After the closure in 1929, the architectural monument was disfigured by a third floor superstructure with balconies [2] . A dormitory was placed inside the temple, then - the office of a scientific institute; new windows were cut through the walls. The bell tower is broken [2] . The temple is named after the Vlaherna Icon of the Mother of God , which has survived to this day. The icon was brought from Constantinople to Russia in the 17th century, named after the area near Constantinople - Blachernae . July 2 celebrates the celebration of the icon.
The aisles of the church are dedicated to saints Alexander Nevsky (patron of Baron Alexander Grigorievich Stroganov ) and Sergius of Radonezh (patron of his descendant, Prince Sergei Mikhailovich Golitsyn , who is buried right there).
