The State Duma of the Russian Empire is a legislative, later - legislative, institution of the Russian Empire . The Duma was the lower house of parliament; the upper house was the State Council of the Russian Empire . There were 4 convocations of the State Duma.
From the Grodno province seven members were elected to the Duma. In total, during the existence of the State Duma, 28 people were elected from the province. Among them were 13 peasants, 1 tradesman , 3 large landowners, as well as 1 landowner . There were also 2 sworn attorneys and 3 lawyers, 1 priests , 2 archpriests and 2 leaders of the nobility, as well as 1 forester , 1 inspector of public schools and 1 member of the Grodno district court.
Of the 28 people, 8 were non-partisan, 4 were members of the Labor Group , two were members of the Western outskirts of the group , 1 was a member of the Polish stake , 5 were members of the Russian national faction , 6 were members of the faction of Russian nationalists and moderate-right , and one person was a member of the Moderate and Progressive Party .
