The station is located on a three-track section of the line, and only external (local) tracks are equipped with platforms - they are now used by F trains. The central express route is not used, and it has never been used for the route movement of trains. The station is overpass. The name of the station is presented mainly on the walls in the form of a black plate with a white inscription.
The station has two exits. The round-the-clock entrance (main) is located in the northern part of the platforms. Through the mezzanine you can go from platform to platform. Turnstiles are located on the mezzanine. This exit leads to the intersection of MacDonald Avenue with X Avenue and 86th Street . The second exit is located in the southern part of the platforms. Stairs from each platform lead directly to the street, bypassing the mezzanine. The mezzanine is closed and is now used as a warehouse. Turnstile pavilions are located directly on the platforms and are represented only by full-height turnstiles.
The second exit was actively used in the period from 2002 to 2004 , when the Coney Island - Stillwell Avenue terminal was closed and this station was the terminal. Then the exit led to a bus stop, from which shuttle buses departed, replacing the unused metro section to Coney Island .
The station is the southernmost, located on a three-track section of the line, to the south the line is converted into a two-track. There is a double-track line to Coney Island . To the south of this station is the Coney Island Yard Depot, where two routes branch.
