Biography

He was born on February 22, 1915 in the village of Yurasov Khutor, now Sevsky District, Bryansk Region, in a family of an employee. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1943. In 1929 he graduated from the seven-year plan in the city of Sevsk . Moved to Moscow. He graduated from the rabfak in 1935. He worked at the factory.

In the Red Army in 1937-1940. After demobilization, he was the foreman at the Respirator factory in the city of Orekhovo-Zuevo, Moscow Region.

In June 1941, Ivanov was drafted into the army and sent to study at the Podolsk artillery school.

On October 6, 1941, as part of a hastily formed infantry division of artillery school cadets, cadet Ivanov arrived at the Ilyinsky line near the city of Maloyaroslavets . On October 10-11, fierce, bloody battles began. The Nazis were eager for Moscow. The cadets stood to death. Ivanov destroyed the advancing infantry from a light machine gun.

On October 12, the enemy, through the positions of the fallen 3rd infantry school battalion, broke into the rear of the cadets. The front fascist tank was walking with a red banner on the tower. D.T. Ivanov commanded the division in the Wisla-Oder operation , during which he participated in battles for the cities of Radom , Lodz .
