Biography

Vladimir Nikolaevich Gaidukov was born on January 4, 1923 in the village of an employee in the family of an employee in the village of Novozhivotov, Tarashchansky district, Kiev province of the Ukrainian SSR (now the village of the Oratovsky district, Vinnitsa region of Ukraine ). Gaidukov graduated from accelerated artillery courses and, as an excellent student, was sent to Moscow to take courses of commanders of artillery batteries at the F.E.Dzerzhinsky Military Artillery Academy . After completing the courses in the winter of 1942, Lieutenant V.N. Gaidukov was sent to the Chkalov (now Orenburg ) region, where the 206th Infantry Division was formed .

In the army, Lieutenant V.N. Gaidukov from 06.06.1942 as a battery commander of 120 mm mortars of the 737th Infantry Regiment of the 206th Infantry Division of the 40th Army of the Voronezh Front . In battles with the Nazi invaders since 07/04/1942. Vladimir Nikolayevich received baptism of fire in battles at the Shilovsky bridgehead . Then he participated in the hostilities at the Chizhov bridgehead . By the end of 1942, V. N. Gaidukov was promoted to senior lieutenant.

In the winter of 1943, the 206th Infantry Division was included in the 38th Army and took part in the Voronezh-Kastornensky operation , and in March 1943 in the third battle for Kharkov . The battery of the senior lieutenant V.N. When units of the German defense regiment broke through near Ozeryki , the Gaidukov battery destroyed 2 anti-tank guns and 4 machine-gun points, and in the battle for the village of Nizhny Syrovatka - a mortar battery. When the German infantry broke through to the battery positions, Senior Lieutenant Gaidukov skillfully organized a circular defense , which allowed to save the material part of the battery and later remove it from the environment.

In early August 1943, the 206th Infantry Division was subordinated to the 47th Army . In its composition, Vladimir Nikolaevich took part in the Battle of Kursk . From August 5 to the end of the Belgorod-Kharkov operation, the battery of Senior Lieutenant Gaidukov destroyed 3 artillery batteries, 2 tanks, 4 machine guns, 30 vehicles, an ammunition depot and up to 200 German soldiers and officers.

After the defeat of the enemy on the Kursk Bulge, the troops of the Voronezh Front almost without a pause took part in the Battle of the Dnieper . During the Sumy-Pryluk operation, units of the 206th Infantry Division reached the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Celeberd . Shortly before crossing the river, Vladimir Nikolaevich was appointed chief of artillery of the 737th Infantry Regiment. Under his leadership, on September 27, 1943, artillery guns and mortars at hand were quickly transported to the right bank and took up firing positions, which predetermined the success of the regiment in the battles for holding the bridgehead . On September 29, 1943, in a battle near the village of Pekari, the gunners of Gaidukov repelled several enemy counterattacks supported by the Ferdinand tanks and self-propelled guns . On September 30, 1943, Vladimir Nikolaevich was seriously wounded and evacuated to the hospital at the Dnieper crossing.

After recovery, Vladimir Nikolaevich with the rank of captain returned to his unit, which had fought since the beginning of November 1943 as part of the 27th Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front , and took part in the Korsun-Shevchenkovsky operation . In March 1944, the 27th Army was transferred to the 2nd Ukrainian Front and took part in the Uman-Botoshanskoy operation , during which Captain V.N. Gaidukov was again seriously wounded during the crossing of the Prut River . He has not returned to the front. After being discharged from the hospital, he was discharged from the army by disability. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union to senior lieutenant Gaidukov Vladimir Nikolaevich was awarded by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on June 3, 1944.

Returning to Grozny, Vladimir Nikolaevich spent a year restoring his health. Then he left for Moscow and entered the Institute of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR, which he successfully graduated in 1950. Prior to retirement, he worked in the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for Foreign Economic Relations. Vladimir Nikolayevich died on July 1, 2006. He was buried in the hero city of Moscow.
