Museum-archive of the transition period , Ukrainian Museum-Archiv Transition Dobi is a propaganda museum created by German invaders in Kiev . It existed in April - October 1942. The expositions represented a "transition period" from the Soviet regime to the invaders expected the final victory of Nazi Germany, and propagandized the "advantages" of the German regime. He was on Alexandrovskaya (now Kontraktovaya) Square in house 8 (the inhabitants of the house were evicted).
In administrative terms, the museum was one of the departments of the Kiev city government. The director was the historian A.P. Ogloblin (former burgomaster), scientific consultants were a number of famous historians of that time - ND Polonskaya-Vasilenko , A.S. Gruzinsky , S.M. Drahomanov , writer Dokia Gumenna and others. Using as under the cover of the museum’s propaganda goals, A.P. Ogloblin collected materials for the exhibition on the destruction by the Bolsheviks of architectural monuments, primarily churches (located on Fundukleevskaya St.), which has been in effect since May 14, 1942.
After making sure of the low efficiency of the museum (the average attendance was about 20 people a day), the Germans closed it. After the liberation of Kiev, the funds of the former museum were transferred to the city archive. The former burgomaster of Kiev L. I. Forostovsky [1] , who later used them in his book “Kiev Under Enemy Occupations” (1952), took some of the materials with him to emigration.
