History
On May 2, 2012, the Mississippi submarine (SSN 782) was handed over to the US Navy. [1] At the same time, the contract provided for the delivery date - April 30, 2013, and the savings amounted to $ 60 million. [1] Construction lasted 62 months, which was a record short construction period for Virginia-class submarines and improved the result of USS Missouri (SSN-780 ) for three months. Before being handed over to the NS, the Mississippi successfully passed the Alpha and Bravo sea trials, which were completed on April 27, 2012.
