Biography

Born in a family of teachers. He graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University (1953). Pupil A.S. Predvoditeleva . In 1953–58 he worked in the laboratory of combustion physics at the Energy Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR , laboratory assistant, engineer , graduate student (graduated from graduate school in 1957), PhD (1957), junior researcher.

In 1958, M.A. Lavrentiev was invited to the MIPT department.

From 1959 he worked in the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences (SB AS USSR). In 1957–67, at the Institute of Hydrodynamics , a researcher, head of the laboratory of electrospark phenomena. Doctor of Science (1962), thesis entitled “Fast Flow Processes in Shock Waves”

In 1967–71, deputy director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

In 1967, together with Anthony Oppenheim and Nyuma Manson, R. I. Soloukhin co-founded the International Colloquium on the Dynamics of Explosion and Reactive Systems ( eng. The International Committee on Gasdynamics of Explosions and Reactive Systems , ICDERS) - scientific meetings held every two years for specialists in gas dynamics of the explosion and non-stationary combustion.

From 1971 to 1976 - Director of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ITAM), Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences .

He taught at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1958-1959), from 1965 a professor at the Novosibirsk State University , first dean of the physics and mathematics (then physical) faculty, pro-rector (1962-1967). Head of the Department of General Physics (1966-1972), founder and head of the Department of Physical Kinetics of the NSU (1972-1976). Since 1977 professor of the Belarusian State University .

From 1976, he lived and worked in Minsk, where he moved at the invitation of the President of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR N. A. Borisevich (in a statement addressed to the Chairman of the USSR Academy of Sciences Academy of Sciences G. I. Marchuk indicated the reason for the transition - the need to change the climate for the spouse) [2] . Director of the Institute of Heat and Mass Transfer. A. V. Lykova, Academy of Sciences of the BSSR (1976-1987).

Research Interests

Fundamental results in the field of combustion and detonation in gases, laser topics. Investigated the processes of ignition of gases and the kinetics of high-temperature chemical reactions (combustion) in shock waves. A detailed study of the structure of detonation waves in gases, the conditions for the transition of combustion to detonation, deciphering the structure of spin detonation, an indication of the possible causes of its occurrence.

Investigated the propagation of shock waves in inhomogeneous media in connection with the development of measures to protect against shock waves.

He proposed methods for measuring the parameters of the medium during high-speed processes (for example, the propagation of shock waves).

He developed methods for producing inverse media in high-speed gas flows and based on them original gas-dynamic lasers with selective thermal excitation and mixing in a supersonic gas flow (according to a convective-type flow circuit with electric excitation), as well as chemical lasers initiated by an electron beam.

Author of more than 400 scientific papers. [3]

For 5 years he was chairman of the sports club of the USSR Academy of Sciences Academy of Sciences. Himself, already being a doctor of science, he fulfilled the standard of a candidate for the master of sports in gymnastics. [four]
