History
The village of Zakharyino has been known since the fourteenth century , when the lands around it were owned by the father of St. Alexis Boyar Fedor Byakont . The first wooden church in the name of the Nativity of Christ was built in Zakharyin in 1648 , by order of the then owner of the village, okolnichalo T. F. Butyrlin. A stone temple on the site of a wooden one was built in 1672 by order of Prince Grigory Romodonovsky and consecrates it in the name of the Icon of the Mother of God “The Sign” . In 1848, in order to expand the internal space, two chapels were added to the temple, one in the name of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker , the other in the name of Joseph the songwriter . In 1897, the temple was rebuilt in the Russian style according to the project of the architect Alexander Kaminsky . At the expense of the merchant of the first guild F.I. Sobolev was re-painted the temple in 1880 , at his own expense in 1883, the building of the parish school is being built next to the temple.
After the October Revolution, the temple remains operational until 1940 . In 1940-1991, the temple housed a movie store. Returned to the Russian Orthodox Church in 1991 .
