The Bahamas participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics , which took place in London ( UK ) from July 27 to August 12 , where they were represented by 4 athletes in two sports. At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the flag of Botswana was carried by runner Chris Brown [1] , and at the closing ceremony, Chandra Starrup .

The Bahamas won one Olympic medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. The gold medal was won in the relay race 4 × 400 meters [2] . At the same time, a new national record was set in the final. In the unofficial medal standings, the Bahamas took 50th place.
