History

The city was founded after Henry VII of the construction of the Richmond Palace in the 16th century , in honor of which the city got its name [3] . in 1846, the first railway station in the city was opened, which led to the absorption of the city by rapidly expanding London [4] .

Parks

Beautiful views of the Thames is one of the main reasons why tourists come to Richmond, beautiful panoramas around the Richmond Bridge with many bars and restaurants. Richmond is operated by London River Services , a daily boat carrier from Westminster to Hampton Court. [5]

On the top of Richmond Hill is Richmond Park - the largest of the royal parks in London, a national nature reserve and a site of special scientific significance created by Charles I in 1634 , as a park for deer breeding, and now it has more than 300 red deer and 330 fallow deer [6] .

Richmond has a large number of pubs and bars scattered throughout the city, along the river and up the hill. One of the oldest - the bar "The Cricketer", sells beer since 1770, although the first building burned down in 1844, it was soon replaced by a new one, which still stands [7] . Most major restaurant chains can be found close to the city center. In addition to them, there are many private restaurants offering cuisine from around the world, including German , Japanese , Russian and Spanish .

From central London to Richmond there is the South West Trains line ( eng. SWT ) [8] , the District Line of the London Underground [9] , as well as the North London Line London Overground [10] .
