Piyi ( Greek Πηγή [1] - source, spring, key) - a village in Greece on Crete . It is located 9 kilometers east of Rethymnon , at an altitude of 60 m, with fertile soil and plenty of water [2] . Enters into the community (dim) of Rethymnon in the peripheral unit of Rethymnon in the periphery of Crete . The population is 401 inhabitants according to the 2011 census [1] .

Piyi has been occupied by the Venetians since the formation of the Republic of Venice [4] .
In Pija there are the Good Friday Church, the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, the Church of St. George (with frescoes of 1411), the Church of St. John , the Church of St. Nicholas (XIV century [5] ) and others [6] .
