Kalbatau ( Kazakh. Kalbatau , until 2007 - Georgievka [2] ) - the village, the administrative center of the Zharma district of the East Kazakhstan region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of the Kalbatau rural district. It is located about 48 km southeast of the city of Charska and 105 km southwest of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk . The nearest train station is Zhangiztobe , 35 km away. It was founded in 1893 by immigrants from the Tauride province on the site of an ancient Kazakh aul. Through Kalbatau pass roads of national importance Semey - Zaisan and Almaty - Ust-Kamenogorsk [4] .
Population
In 1999, the village population was 11,986 people (5,871 men and 6,115 women) [5] . According to the 2009 census , 10,214 people lived in the village (4,939 men and 5,275 women) [5] .
As of January 1, 2016, the village population was 9852 people (4886 men and 4966 women) [1] .

- Kabden Baidosov (1934-1997) - the first master of sports in freestyle wrestling in Kazakhstan, 6-time champion of the Kazakh SSR.
