Brigitte Balley ( fr. Brigitte Balleys ; born in June 18, 1959 , Maroni , canton Valais , Switzerland ) is a Swiss singer ( mezzo-soprano ).
She studied in Sion , then graduated from the Bern Conservatory , vocal class Jacob Shtempfli She also worked with Elizabeth Schwarzkopf . She made her debut as a chamber singer in 1982 , on the opera stage - in 1985 in Freiburg , in 1987 she performed the part of Cherubino in The Magic Flute on the stage of the Vienna State Opera . In the future, among the operas of Balli were Carmen in the eponymous opera by Georges Bizet , Mozart’s Zerlín in Don Juan , Dorabella in All That Comes , Octavian in Richard Strauss ’s Cavalier of the Rose , and the part in the Coronation of Poppia by Claudio Monteverdi , which Baley calls his favorite composer [1] .
To a greater extent, however, Ballei is known as a chamber singer. Among her many recordings are the albums of vocal music by Robert Schumann , Ernest Chausson , C. M. Leffler , Melanie Bonis , Arthur Onegger , compositions for voice and orchestra by Hector Berlioz , Giuseppe Martucci , Ottorino Respighi , Ernest Bloch .
She trains in Sion, Fribur and Lausanne, among her students, in particular, Kapusin Keller .
