Bane [1] ( pers. بانه ) is a city in the west of Iran , in the province of Kurdistan . The administrative center of the Shahrestan Bane . The fourth most populated city in the province [2] .

Geography
The city is located in the northwestern part of Kurdistan, in a mountainous area, at an altitude of 1502 meters above sea level [3] . The bathhouse is located approximately 125 kilometers northwest of Cenange , the provincial capital, and 485 kilometers west of Tehran , the country's capital.

Population
According to the census, in 2006 the population was 69,635 people [2] ; Kurds (native speakers of Sorani ) predominate in the national composition, and Sunni Muslims in the confessional.

Attractions
The city is surrounded by forests with a total area of 50 thousand hectares. [five]
In the nearby village of Show, the ruins of the dam [6] , which existed during the reign of the Arshakids and Sassanids, had a length of 10 meters and a thickness of 4, are located. At 12 kilometers north of the city is the natural cave Shovey, whose length is 267 meters [7] ] .
