Tajikistan participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics , which were held in London ( United Kingdom ) from July 27 to August 12 , where it was represented by 16 athletes in seven sports. At the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the flag of Tajikistan was carried by boxer Mavzuna Chorieva [1] .

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Tajikistan won one bronze medal. The medal was won by Mavzuna Chorieva, who took third place in the category up to 60 kg . This medal became the third for Tajikistan in the history of the Olympic Games and the first in boxing and in women’s competitions. In the unofficial medal standings, Tajikistan ranked 79th.
