Biography
Andrei Bulgakov was born on August 13, 1913 in the village of Belaya Glina (now the Beloglinsky district of the Krasnodar Territory ) into a peasant family. He graduated from eight classes of the school, worked in his native village. In 1936 - 1937 Bulgakov served in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army , in June 1941 he was re-drafted into it. Since July of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By September 1943, the Red Army soldier Andrei Bulgakov was a scout of the 1206th guards separate reconnaissance company of the 110th Guards Rifle Division of the 37th Army of the Steppe Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper [1] .
On September 29, 1943, in the vicinity of the village of Kutsevolovka, Onufrievsky District, Kirovograd Region of the Ukrainian SSR, Bulgakov was the first in the group of scouts to cross the western bank of the Dnieper and with automatic fire ensured the successful crossing of the entire group. During the capture of the bridgehead, he personally destroyed 13 enemy soldiers and officers. On the night of October 8–9, 1943, Bulgakov was the first to reach the German trenches and destroyed 9 soldiers and 2 officers in battle, thereby ensuring the successful advancement of his unit [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 22, 1944, the Red Army soldier Andrei Bulgakov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .
In 1945, Bulgakov graduated from the Poltava Tank School. In 1946 he joined the CPSU (b) . In the same year, with the rank of second lieutenant, he was sacked. He worked in the Korsakov municipal farm of the Sakhalin region . He died on May 22, 1967 [1] . He was buried in Korsakov .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
