Biography

Born December 12, 1926 in a Russian peasant family.

He graduated from 7 classes and the school of FZU , later worked in Kuibyshev and Tashkent as a mechanic.

Drafted into the Red Army in September 1942. He studied at the Kharkov Tank School . Since June 1943 he has been participating in the operations of the Great Patriotic War. He fought on the Kursk Bulge, participated in the Korsun-Shevchenko and Iasi-Chisinau combat operations, in defeating the enemy near Budapest . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1944.

Feat

The commander of the tank of the 441st tank battalion, 110th tank brigade ( 18th tank corps , 5th guards tank army [1] , 2nd Ukrainian front ) Komsomol member lieutenant Nikolai Kozlov performed a feat during the battle of the Dnieper .

On October 24, 1943, in the area of ​​the city of Krivoy Rog, the tank was surrounded and without infantry support. For 8 hours he acted against superior enemy forces. By skillful maneuver and bold actions, the tank crew destroyed 5 bunkers, 1 anti-tank gun, 4 armored vehicles, 30 vehicles with military cargo, 5 armored personnel carriers, up to 60 enemy soldiers and led the tank out of the encirclement.

The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on March 10, 1944 .

After the war

In 1946 he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Officer Armored School , in 1961 - the Military Academy of Armored Forces . He served in various command posts in the Soviet Army. The last position of Lieutenant General Kozlov N. M. is the head of the Krasnodar Higher Military Order of the October Revolution of the Red Banner College named after Army General S. Shtemenko.

He died on September 25, 1983 . He was buried in Krasnodar .
