Content
The early years
He began to play football in 1932 in Stalingrad in the team of the Krasnaya Zvezda sports club of the woodworkers' union, then he played for the Dynamo and Metallurg teams in Stalingrad. [2]
In 1938-1939 he played for the SKVO team. [2]
Yermasov made his debut at the highest union level at the age of 24 and went on his first match as a team captain. In the 1937 USSR Cup meeting , the Metallurg club (Stalingrad) in their field unexpectedly stubbornly resisted the Torpedo team of the second division (group B) (Moscow) , losing only in extra time.
Four teammates in the next season played for the club of the top division " Tractor" (Stalingrad) . Ermasov accepted the invitation of the main team of the city only at the beginning of 1940.
Season 1940
For a place at the base of the Tractor , Yermasov competed with Arkady Usov, who was unchanged until that moment. In the first rounds, according to the decision of coach Yuri Khodotov , goalkeepers entered the field in turn, through the match. Yermasov’s debut on May 6 came at a home meeting with the current champion, the Moscow Spartak . The goalkeeper missed the first goal in the USSR championships (and the only one in the match) in the 50th minute from Spartak Alexei Sokolov [3] .
In his next game with the Leningrad Zenit, Yermasov was mistaken at the exits and once dropped the ball on the opponent’s leg, but still kept the goal “dry” [4] .
Starting from the 9th round, Yermasov became a solid “first number” of the team and played 17 matches in the 1940 championship . He defended the gates of Tractor in two matches, the results of which were subsequently canceled, and conceded one goal in them.
Years of War
During World War II, Vasily Yermasov went to the front, took part in the Battle of Stalingrad , and in May 1943 , after the end of the battle, he was one of the organizers and participant in the famous match “On the Ruins of Stalingrad”. [one]
On February 3, 1943 he was awarded the medal “For Courage” , which he received on May 2, 1943 before the match “On the Ruins of Stalingrad”. [five]

Match “On the Ruins of Stalingrad”
Ermasov participated in the match on May 2, 1943 against the Moscow Spartak, organized with the aim of raising the spirit of the Stalingraders. In that match, his team won 1-0, and Yermasov repelled all the strikes of Spartak.
Coaching
Having completed the player’s career, Vasily Yermasov worked as a coach of Stalingrad football teams.
In the 1950s, he coached the Stalingrad teams Torpedo and Metallurg, then worked as the head coach of the regional council of the DSO Trud, and the head of the Health Workshop of the Steel-wire-rope plant. [6]
In 1955-1956 he was a coach and head of the Torpedo team of craftsmen (Stalingrad) . [2]
After retirement, he took an active part in the life of the Volgograd Rotor. His regular meetings with young football players had a great influence on strengthening the patriotic spirit of Rotor. [one]
