Career
William Hannah worked in the scenario department of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio since 1937, met Joseph Barber there and since then they have worked together. In 1940, they created the first film with a cat and mouse “ Puss Gets the Boot ” (The Cat Gets Kick), which caused a stir and was presented to the Oscar. Then the young directors returned to their characters, gave them the names Tom and Jerry, and continued to create cartoons about them. [five]
In 1957, MGM Studio closed and Joe Barbera and William Hanna organized their own cartoon studio, “Hanna-Barbera”.
