Biography
Early years
Onno Tunch was born in 1948 in Istanbul . His musical experience began with the Hayrur Mangaz Church Choir (One Hundred Students). Soon he had to abandon his studies at school in order to go to work in order to feed his family.
Born into a financially limited family, he could not afford a musical instrument until Anush, the mother of his friend Arman, bought his son a guitar, and one for Onno too. He quickly mastered playing the guitar and assembled a musical group.

He collaborated with Hulka Aktunj and Baghdan Baidur. His song “Sevince” was performed by Nilufer Hume and Nazar at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 .
In the 80s, he had a relationship with the famous singer Sezen Aksu , who were both romantic and professional. Onno's younger brother, Arto Tunchboyajyan , worked with him for 25 years. Onno greatly inspired his brother, who dedicated Onno his album “Onno” (1996), together with Ara Dinkjian . During his concerts, Arto Tunchboyajyan often wears ONNO T-shirts.
