Body length 38–42 cm; weight 540-700 g. The main color is green with a white-gray coating, the parrot gives the impression of sprinkled with flour. Feathers of a nape with wide gray-violet bordering. There is a yellow spot on the front of the head (in some individuals it is either slightly or completely absent). The curve of the wing is red-yellow or red-olive. The feathers are purple-white at the ends. On secondary wing feathers 4-5 red “mirrors”. Periocular rings are white. Beak is gray, at the base of bone color. The iris is brown or red. Paws are gray.
It occurs from southern Mexico to Bolivia and northern Brazil .
Humid tropical selves inhabit up to 1200 m above sea level. Keep in pairs or large packs. They feed mainly on fruits, seeds, berries, nuts, flowers and buds.
There are usually 3 eggs in a clutch . The female incubates for 28 days. The male feeds the female during the entire incubation period.
It has nothing to do with Müller, the name is an incorrect translation from German Mülleramazone . Another Russian name, mill Amazon is also not a very good translation option. The original “ Mülleramazone ” indicates the color: the green plumage is as if powdered with a whitish coating, similar to flour. Latin Amazona farinosa literally means "flour Amazon".
