Biography
Ivan Bukanov was born on December 25, 1917 ( January 7, 1918 ) in the village of Novokazachye (now the Kozelsky district of the Kaluga Region) into a peasant family. He was left without parents, raised in an orphanage in Kozelsk . He graduated from six classes of an elementary school, and then entered the tractor machine operators school. After studying there for two years, he specialized in agricultural machinery mechanic. in 1932 Bukanov left for Moscow , where for four years he worked as a mechanic at the factory, and then on the construction of the Moscow subway . in 1938 he was n izvan for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army kozelsky district military commissariat of the Smolensk region After the regimental school Bukanov became commander of the gun From July 1941 -... in the Great Patriotic War took part in the Battle of Moscow . He graduated from the short-term officer courses, and returned in August in 1942 with the rank of second lieutenant on the Western front . He took part in the liberation of Vyazma . By November 15, 1943 , Lieutenant Ivan Bukanov commanded a platoon control 308 artillery regiment, 144th Infantry div Zia's 33th Army of the Western Front. He distinguished himself during the liberation of the Vitebsk region of the Byelorussian SSR [1] .
November 15, 1943, adjusting the fire of the battery, Bukanov destroyed 5 enemy machine gun points. During the reflection of the German counterattack, Bukanov destroyed the enemy’s gun crew and captured the gun. Until the shells ran out, he continued to fire from the captured weapon on the tanks and infantry of the enemy. When the ammunition was over, Bukanov blew up the gun and carried the wounded soldier out of the battlefield. December 3, 1943 Bukanov died in battle in the area of the village of Krasnaya Sloboda, Dubrovensky district, Vitebsk region. He was buried in Krasnaya Sloboda in a mass grave [1] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 3, 1944, for "exemplary execution of the combat missions of command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown", Lieutenant Ivan Bukanov was posthumously awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union . He was also awarded the Orders of Lenin and Red Star .
Memory
- A lane in Kozelsk was named in honor of Bukanov [1] .
- One of the streets of the village was named after I. Bukanov. New Cossack Kozelsky district of the Kaluga region.
- In 2016, a cenotaph was installed at the Federal Military Memorial Cemetery [2] .
