Hedlisheidi GeoPP ( Isl. Hellisheiðarvirkjun ) is a large geothermal power station in Iceland near the Hengidl volcano with an installed capacity of 303 MW . In 2012, it is the largest power plant of this type in the world [1] .

The station began operating in 2006 with two generators of 45 MW each. In 2007, an additional low-pressure generator with a capacity of 33 MW was introduced. Two generators with a capacity of 45 MW were commissioned in 2008 , the last two generators with a capacity of 45 MW were launched in October 2011 .
