Biography

Nikolay Buynov was born on December 28, 1923 in the village of Kryukovka (now the Teplo-Ogaryovsky district of the Tula region ) in a peasant family. Received primary education, worked as a mechanic in a car garage. In November 1941, he was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1943, Buinov graduated from junior lieutenant courses. Since August 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. By July 1944, Junior Lieutenant Nikolai Buinov commanded a platoon of a company of submachine gunners of the 7th Guards Mechanized Brigade of the 3rd Guards Mechanized Corps of the 1st Baltic Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of the city of Jelgava, the Latvian SSR [1] .

On July 28, 1944, Buinov was one of the first in his unit to break into Jelgava. During the battles for the city, he personally destroyed about 20 enemy soldiers and officers. In the course of repelling a German counterattack, he managed to hit a heavy tank with a bunch of grenades [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, Junior Lieutenant Nikolai Buinov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

In 1946, in the rank of lieutenant, Buinov was dismissed. He lived in Moscow , worked as an electrician at one of the factories. He died on December 28, 1977 [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the October Revolution, World War 2 nd degree and the Red Star , as well as a number of medals [1] .
