Maren , also Marin (fr. Le marin in the lane seaman ) is a moist, warm sea wind blowing towards the coast, characteristic of the South French Mediterranean , primarily the Gulf of Lyon , from Roussillon to Languedoc and Provence,.
General information
Maren blows in the direction from the southwest and southeast, reaching a force of 6 points on the Beaufort scale . Reaches the mountain ranges of Corbiere and Cevennes . This wind carries with it a warm air front created by the low-pressure area . The emergence of madder is favored by the formation of an area of low atmospheric pressure over northwestern Europe and the emergence of an anticyclone in the southern part of the Mediterranean basin. This differential pressure and certain weather effects in the area between the Alps and the Pyrenees lead to the formation of air currents moving north from the southeast.
In the direction opposite to the marina , a cold and dry tramontan wind moves from the north.
