Experimental Cinema Center [1] (Experimental Center for Cinematography, Italian: Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia ), or Italian National Film School , was founded in 1935 with the aim of promoting the art of cinema and the film industry.
This oldest film school (film institute) [1] of Western Europe arose in Rome in 1935 through the efforts of Luigi Freddy , Head of the Directorate General of Cinematography at the Ministry of Press and Propaganda of the Government of Benito Mussolini One of the initiators of its creation was an outstanding film expert, film critic and cinematographer Umberto Barbaro , who in 1936-1948. served as director of the Experimental Film Center [2] . From its inception to the present day, the school has been funded by the Italian government and has focused on educational, research , publishing and film theory.
The Experimental Cinema Center is the most important institution in Italy for training, research and experimentation in the field of cinema - documentary, art, animation.
Purpose
The experimental cinema center is aimed at improving cinema, cinematographic and audiovisual technologies, which are served by the Foundation , the National Film School and the National Film Archive.
The administrative building of the National Film School is located in Rome. Three-year courses are taught here to train qualified actors , directors [1] , screenwriters , stage designers, stage designers , costume designers, cameramen, sound engineers , and film production and editing specialists.
Training
Located close to the Chinechitta film studio, the school has been teaching its students for three years using 35mm film technology. The competition among applicants is very high: only 6 students are enrolled in each class.
