The national team of Serbia is the successor of the national teams of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1918 - 02.02.2003), Serbia and Montenegro. The Russian team is the successor to the USSR team (1917-1991). When calculating the medals, FIBA shares the medals won by the USSR and Russia. And also when counting the medals of Yugoslavia before 1992, Yugoslavia after 1992 and Serbia.
