Scientific ( Kazakh. Scientific ) - a village in the Shortandy district of the Akmola region of Kazakhstan . It is part of the Damsinsky rural district (until 2013 the administrative center and the only settlement of the Scientific Village Administration). The KATO code is 116842100 [1] .

A motorway Astana - Kokshetau ( A-1 ) passes near the village. The distance from the regional center of Kokshetau is 225 km. The village of Scientific is located 2 kilometers south of the district center - the village of Shortandy . The village covers an area of 58.0 ha.
On the territory of the village is the Scientific and Production Center for Grain Management named after Alexander Ivanovich Baraev . There is a high school.
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 1140 people (508 men and 632 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census, 1065 people (485 men and 580 women) lived in the village [2] .
The population as of 01.01.2010 is 1060 people. There are 416 yards.
