Giannis Melanitis ( Greek: Γιάννης Μελανίτης , 1967, Athens) is a Greek artist and sculptor who works in the genre of installations and digital art .

Creative Biography
Giannis Melanitis was born in 1967 in Athens. He has degrees in painting, sculpture and a master's degree in digital art from the Athens School of Fine Arts . He is also a research fellow at Athens National Technical University and Athens School of Architecture. In May 2010, he became a teacher at the Faculty of Sculpture of the Athens School of Fine Arts. Marcel Duchamp , Yannis Xenakis , James Joyce , Joseph Boyce had a significant influence on the artistic perception and artistic manner of Yannis Melantis.
Yannis Melanitis was the organizer and one of the main participants in a very successful exhibition at the Andreas Singros Hospital in Athens on the topic: “Dermatography: Art and Medicine” [1] . The hospital administration chose him to coordinate and participate in the exhibition due to his wide experience in conducting exhibitions and a modern look at the human body, bio-art and medical illustrations. His latest works include interactive installations and an exhibition entitled “Cryography” [2] , which presented the painting as a metaphor of permafrost [3] . The exhibition was held in Athens on October 14, 2010 .
In 2006, Dann Le Jardin d'Epicure / Les elements comme des metaphors solo exhibitions were held at the University Hospital of Geneva and the Pleasure Machine at the 8th Digital Salon in Madrid and the House of World Cultures in Berlin . In 2006, his exhibition “Touch Terrain” was held in Monaco . Yannis Melanitis was also a participant in the first biennale of contemporary art in Thessaloniki, organized by the Museum of Modern Art . In March 2008, he presented sculptures at an exhibition in the Gallery E31, Athens, which was called "Odysseus as Faust" [4] .
