The length of the river is 23 km. It takes its sources at the foot of an anonymous hill 919 m high. [4] It falls into Avacha Bay (Zhirovaya Bay) [5] .
It has a right tributary, Mutnovskaya , flowing 8 km from the mouth of the Zhirova [6] . In the river basin there are Zhirovsky and Voinovsky sources .
