Life and career

Michelle Ann Marie Fabare was born in Santa Monica, California [3] . She is the niece of actress and singer Nanette Fabrey. [2] Fabare started acting at the age of three, and at the age of ten she got her first prominent role in the television series Loretta's Letter with Loretta Young . In 1958, she got the role of Mary Stone, daughter of the heroine Donna Reed , in one of the first comedy television series in the history of television - “ Donna Reed Show ”. Teenage popularity of Shelley Fabare in the USA helped her begin her career as a singer and in 1962 she released her debut album Shelley! and the main single from the album - “Johnny Angel” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart [2] and was sold with a circulation of more than a million copies [4] .

After completing the Donna Reed Show , Shelly Fabare starred in several successful films, including three films with Elvis Presley : “ Happy with a Girl ”, “ Weekend in California ” and “ Picnic by the Sea ”. In the seventies, the career of the actress was less successful and she mainly appeared in television films and series. From 1978 to 1983, she appeared in the sitcom Once Upon a Time , where her aunt Nanette Fabrey also starred.
