Mailgun married Anharad, daughter of Llivelin of Gwynedd .
In 1231, his father, Milgun, dies. Mailgun could not get the throne of Deheybart, whose king was Rhys Grieg . Soon, Milgun attacked the city of Cardigan and looted it and burned it to the gates of the castle, while he killed all the townspeople he found, and returned back with victory and innumerable booty. Then he destroyed the bridge over Teivi. Milegun came to Cardigan for the second time with Owain , who was the son of Grifid Pouissy , and the people of Llivelin , and besieged the castle and destroyed it with catapults until the garrison was forced to surrender.
Mailgun was mentioned in 1252 when he sacked Elphael on the orders of the king, because the people of Elvayl tried to use the Elveda pastures.
In 1254, Gwenllian, daughter of Mailgun, died at Lanviangel Gelinhrode on the day of St. Catherine; and her body was buried with honors in the monastery of Istrad Flir, in the chapter building.
In 1255, Margared, the daughter of Mailgun, the wife of Owain, Lord Kedewine, died. And the big bell Istrad Flira was bought for 27 marks, 5 shillings and two cows. And it was installed on the day of the Holy Apostle Bartholomew, and was consecrated by the bishop of Bangor. In the same year, Rhys, the son of Mailgun, died. And on September 28, 1255, his other son, Maredid, died.
In 1257, Milgun himself died. His body was buried in the chapel building of Istrad Flir.
His eldest son, Rhys, had two sons: Rhys Yehwank and Llewelyn .
