Biography

Born in Lviv in the family of the painter Francis Gorodisky. She studied at the Lviv Art and Industrial School ( 1927 - 1929 ) and at the Roman Academy of Arts ( 1929 - 1932 ). Returning to Lviv, she was engaged in temple sculpture, worked at the factory of alabaster products in Zhuravno . She created her early works under the influence of traditional "Rodenism" and early Italian neoclassicism. Returning from Rome, she became famous thanks to the temple sculpture. She was fond of stylizations of Bourdelle , the creative style of Ioannina Reichert-Tot , the style of Art Deco . After World War II, she worked in Krakow as a professor of polytechnics. She was friends with Ioannina Reichert-Tot. Died in Krakow.

Creativity

  • Early work was done in Rome in 1932 : the bas-relief "Parting", the head of a young girl "Fatum", thesis "Eve".
  • Alabaster sculptures of Saints Peter and Paul at the altar of the garrison church in Rivne ( 1933 ).
  • Figures of four evangelists from alabaster in the Krakow church of the Barefoot Carmelites ( 1933 ).
  • Queen of God of Poland with two angels in a church in the village of Zabierzów, Lesser Poland Voivodeship , alabaster ( 1933 ).
  • The bronze relief "Annunciation", made in Rome, bought by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Polish church in Paris and ( 1934 ).
  • Bust of industrialist Stanislav Kremer from tinted plaster ( 1935 ).
  • A group of angels holding a crown over a tabernaculum for a church in the city of Chenzkowice, Lesser Poland Voivodeship ( 1935 ).
  • Sculptures for the chapel of the town of Rabka-Zdroj, Lesser Poland Voivodeship ( 1935 ).
  • Sculpture of the Mother of God in a church in Komarno ( 1936 ).
  • Sculpture of Jesus Christ on the tower of the church in the city of Radom ( 1936 ).
 
Monument to the dead on January 29, 1944 in Krakow
  • Multi-figured reliefs for the church in the city of Hel Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1936 ).
  • Tabernacle bas-reliefs and high reliefs in the side altars of the Armenian church in Lviv ( 1936 - 1937 ).
  • The main altar of marble and alabaster for the Church of the Meeting in Lviv ( 1937 , destroyed in 1979 ).
  • Alabaster statues of Saints Cyril and Methodius for the church in Piekari Slaski ( 1938 ).
  • Easel composition "Herodias" of black alabaster ( 1939 ). Exhibited at an international exhibition in New York , now at the Museum of Polish Art in Chicago .
  • Monument to the executed Poles on January 29, 1944 in Krakow. Established in 1963 , co-authors M. Grodzitsky, S. Trzebiatowski.
