The remastering project on EMI lasted four years, its goal was to maximally clear the recordings of noise and noise, to make them more “transparent”, and to reproduce in the modern listener the same feeling and “coloring” of the “digital” sound that the listeners could previously receive from the “vinyl” sound - and then only on a fairly high-quality reproducing equipment [4] . The project was led by leading audio engineers ( English audio engineering ) EMI Allan Rose (Allan Rouse) and Guy Messi (Guy Massey) [5] .
It was already the fourth full or almost complete box set with recordings of the original Beatles albums (after The Beatles Collection , The Collection and The Beatles Box Set ) - however, if you count as a unit each sold box set (stereo or mono), then the total number of sales amounted to more than 30 million copies.
The box set won the Grammy Award for Best Historical Album at the 53rd award ceremony in 2010 [6] .
The Beatles: Rock Band video game was released on the same day, where fragments from remastered recordings included in the box set were also used.
On November 12, 2012, the kit was published on thick 180-gram vinyl records with a luxurious 252-page book.
