Tomash Ueysky ( Polish. Tomasz Ujejski ; December 19, 1612 , Sandomierz - August 1, 1689 , Vilna ) - a Polish political and religious figure of the XVII century , a Roman Catholic priest , bishop of Kiev , a Jesuit . A prominent figure in the era of the Counter Reformation .

Biography
Born in a gentry family of modest affluence. Waysky served as secretary to the office of Jerzy Ossolinsky , then secretary, later head of the great royal office of the King of Poland and the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Vladislav IV and Jan II Casimir .
He was a canon of Plock , a Gnezna commander of the Benedictines in Plock, a canon of Varmia . For 27 years he was associated with Warmia, for many years he was a member of the chapter of Warmia, of which 25 years with the rank of the first prelate .
Since 1656 - ordinary Kiev. Despite the war between the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Moscow kingdom, he refused to leave diocese in Kiev.
He was a senator of the Commonwealth . He was personally acquainted with the four Polish kings and enjoyed their confidence.
At 65 years of age, abandoning all the posts and privileges, joined the Jesuit Order. The last 12 years of his life spent in a monastery in Vilna .
