History
Hamilton County was formed in 1821 from White County. The name was given in honor of Alexander Hamilton , the hero of the war for independence and the first US Treasury Secretary .
Geography
The total area of the district is 1128.9 km² (435.89 miles²), of which 1125.8 km² (434.66 miles²) or 99.72% of land and 3.2 km² (1.23 miles²) or 0.28% of water surface [2] .
Climate
The district is located in a zone of humid continental climate . Temperatures range from an average of -7 ° C in January to a maximum of 32 ° C in July. A record low temperature was recorded in January 1930 and amounted to -31 ° C, and a record high temperature was recorded in July 1936 and amounted to 45 ° C. The average monthly rainfall is from 70 mm in February to 119 mm in May [3] .
