Pulkkinen made her debut in the World Cup in 1995 , at the same time she first entered the top ten in the individual race at the World Cup stage. In total, in individual races he has in his account 16 hits in the top ten at the stages of the World Cup. Pulkkinen's best achievement in the overall World Cup standings is 24th in the 1995/96 season.
At the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, she took 57th place in the 5 km classic and 51st place in the pursuit.
