Ethnic History
Salutes go back to the Mongolian tribe of the Saljiuts , which underwent Turkization during their stay in Altai and in southern Siberia . As part of the Naiman - Katai tribes, the Salutians moved to Desht-i-Kipchak , where the bulk of them dissolved in the Turkic environment. A small part of the Salutians, who resettled with the Kara-China in Bashkortostan , preserved the ancient ethnonym. In the 13-14 centuries. salutes roamed between the rivers Bela and Ika . At the end of the 14th century. as a result of the war between Timur and Tokhtamysh, they headed north and northeast and settled in the valleys of the Iset , Sylva , Chusovaya rivers. The development of Perm Territory and Siberia by Russia and the fall of the Siberian Khanate forced the salutes to move south and southeast and occupy the settlement territory south of Iset, in the Sinara and Techa river basin.

Now on the territory of the settlement of the tribe is Kunashak, partly Argayash, Kaslinsky areas of the Chelyabinsk region .
