Biography

He was born on April 2, 1914 in the village of Grigoryevka, First now Sakmarsky District, Orenburg Region, in a peasant family. Russian. In 1933 he graduated from high school. He worked as the head of the political studies department of the Orenburg District Committee of the Komsomol.

In the Red Army since 1936. In 1939 he graduated from the military-political school. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1939. At the front in World War II from October 1941. In 1942 he graduated from the Military-Political Academy named after V.I. Lenin, and in 1943 - the courses "Shot" .

The commander of the 550th Infantry Regiment (126th Infantry Division, 51st Army, 4th Ukrainian Front ), Lt. Col. Georgy Ivanishchev in October 1943 skillfully led the regiment's units during the breakthrough of heavily fortified enemy defenses and in the battles for the city of Melitopol, Zaporizhia Region of Ukraine .

The infantry regiment entrusted to Lieutenant Colonel G. Ivanishchev on October 23, 1943 repulsed sixteen enemy counterattacks and destroyed a large amount of enemy manpower and equipment.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 1, 1943 for exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and courage and heroism shown to this, Lieutenant Colonel Ivanishchev Georgy Stepanovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal (No. 1292).

In March 1945 he was appointed military adviser to the 10th Infantry Division of the 1st Bulgarian Army and participated in the Balaton Defensive Operation. For these battles he was awarded the Bulgarian Order of Courage.

March 23, 1945 entered the interim command of the 20th Guards Rifle Division and participated in the Vienna offensive.

After the war, G. S. Ivanishchev continued to serve in the army. In 1952, he graduated from the Military Academy of the General Staff . He commanded formations, and from 1958 to 1964 he was the head of the Far Eastern Suvorov Military School (now Ussuriysk). Since 1964, the Guard, Major General Ivanishchev - in stock.

He lived in Kharkov . He died on March 12, 1968.
