Biography
Born in 1904 in the village of Makhoshevskaya, now of the Mosty district of the Krasnodar Territory, in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1942. After graduating from elementary school, he worked on the collective farm.
In the Red Army in 1926-1930, 1940-1941 and since September 1941.
The commander of the rifle squad of the 327th Guards Mountain Rifle Regiment of the 128th Guards Mountain Rifle Division of the 1st Guards Army of the 4th Ukrainian Front of Guards Sergeant Ivanenko on October 14, 1944 in the battle for Zvala (north of Snin , Czechoslovakia), acting as assistant commander platoon, replaced the retired company commander and drew the fighters to the attack, which played a crucial role in the liberation of the Zvala. Roth Ivanenko, having only ten people in his squad, destroyed up to fifty enemy soldiers and officers in this battle.
Later, developing the offensive, the Ivanenko fighters stormed the enemy fortifications at the dominant height by storm. Neighboring units failed to support the company, and she was surrounded. In an effort to capture Soviet soldiers in captivity, the Nazis threw several mouths to the height. Within a day and a half, the enemy launched fifteen counterattacks. Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945 for courage, bravery and heroism shown in the fight against the Nazi invaders, guard sergeant Ivanenko Vasily Petrovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal (No. 8844) .
In 1946, Senior Sergeant Ivanenko was demobilized. He lived in the urban-type settlement Mostovskoy . Was on the party and economic work.
