Biography

Born in 1913 in the city of Nalchik, Kabardino-Balkaria. Russian.

In 1934-1936 he was in active military service. Upon returning from the army, he was a pupil of a locksmith, then worked as a car repairman in Nalchik. In the years 1939-1940 he again went through active military service. In 1940 he graduated from junior lieutenant courses, non-partisan.

In June 1941, Kalyuzhny was again drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. In the battles of World War II - from May 1943. He fought on the Voronezh and 1st Ukrainian fronts. Was injured.

In the autumn of 1943 the Dnieper was forced and Kiev was taken. Soviet troops advanced rapidly to the west. Fierce, bloody battles ensued. The 163rd Rivne-Kiev Rifle Division, which took a profitable line near the village of Paripsy of the Popelnyansky District, also took part in them. The 9th company of the 1318th regiment, commanded by Lieutenant Nikolai Gavrilovich Kalyuzhny, was assigned to the main outpost. November 11, 1943 in a battle in the area of. Paripsy ( Popelnyansky district of Zhytomyr region of the Ukrainian Republic) Kalyuzhny knocked out 2 tanks.

He died in battle on November 13, 1943 , near the village of Paripsy of the Popelnyansky district of the Zhytomyr region of the Ukrainian Republic . He is also buried there.

Rewards
