Soon after his accession to the throne, the Moabite king reposed from the kingdom of Israel (2 Kings 1: 1 ). It is not known what plans Ahaziah was, since he soon fell from the roof of his palace. Wanting to find out about his healing, he turned to Baal Zevuv , thereby bringing upon himself the judgment of the God of Israel. Ohosia never recovered from the disease.
The royal throne in the country passed to his brother, Joram .
