Large oatmeal 15-16 cm long, wingspan 24-24 cm, weight 20-23 g. The back is brownish-brown with dark longitudinal mottles, the tart is reddish-brown, the wings and tail are brown, the strip along the crown and the entire bottom are white, longitudinal streaks on the chest. The male’s top and sides are black. The beak is brown, brightening to the base of the mandible. Legs are light brown. The rainbow is dark brown. It differs from other oatmeal with a yellow eyebrow. The female and young birds are paler and dimmer.
Yellow-browed oatmeal lives in Central Siberia. The species inhabits dark coniferous, coniferous and mixed forests with small open areas.
It feeds on seeds and insects.
A nest of grass is built on trees, most often on spruce trees, on the side branches of trees, at different heights. In the clutch, usually 4-5 light gray eggs with sparse dark brown or black dots.
