Club career

Petrovich began his football career at the Buduchnost club from Titograd in 1987, having spent 3 seasons in the team. Moving to Dynamo Zagreb in the 1990/91 season, he confirmed with his game that he was one of the country's best right-wing defenders, and already on September 12, 1990 made his debut for his country's national team in the match against Northern Ireland , which his team won with a score of 2 : 0. After which he signed a contract with the Spanish “ Seville ” in 1991, however, in the Spanish club, according to the football player, there was an excess of requirements in the club, and he soon left the club, signing a contract with the Dutch club “ Den Bosch ” in 1992, where together he managed to get out with the club in Eredivisi , however, after the club left for Erstedivisi, he joined Valveik in 1994. It was in this club that he succeeded as an attacking right midfielder, where he scored 13 goals in total for 2 years, Petrovich’s game did not go unnoticed, and in 1996 he moved to the camp of the Dutch PSV grand. In his first season in PSV, he showed that he can play well, having scored 5 goals in a season in 25 matches. In his second season, the character of the player affected the club, he was involved in a quarrel with the team captain Arthur Numan , as a result of which he rarely appeared on the field, having played 10 matches. In 1997, he moved to Japan to play for Urava Red Diamonds [1] , after which he returned to the Waalwijk in 2000, where he ended his career.

Team

He was a prominent player in the national team of Yugoslavia in 1996-1997, helped the team to qualify for the World Cup through the qualifying tournament , and also represented his country at the Mundial in France in 1998 [2] .

Coaching career

On August 21, 2006 Petrovich was appointed the new head coach of the Portuguese Boavista team. In their first match as a coach, Boavista defeated the Lisbon Benfica 3-0. Nevertheless, he resigned in October 2006 after spending only a month and a half at the club [3] . The following season, 2007/08, Petrovich was the head coach of Vaalveik, thanks to him the club took second place in the Dutch 2nd division, but he was not able to break through with the team to the highest echelon of the national championship. In the 2008/09 season, he worked as an assistant to Martin Joll in the German Hamburg . July 28, 2010 West Ham confirmed Petrovich as an assistant to head coach Avram Grant [4] . On November 23, 2010, West Ham United broke up with Petrovich in less than four months. After his departure, he made sharp comments about the Premier League, doubting its quality [5] . Then on December 7, 2010 Petrovich was appointed head coach of the Japanese club Urava Red Diamonds , playing in the J-League . Nevertheless, the Reds got into the relegation zone as a result of a series of poor results in the season; as a result, on October 20, 2011 Petrovich was fired from his post as head coach for five matches before the end of the season. In February 2012, he became an assistant to Guus Hiddink in Anji after an SMS sent to him [6] On October 19, 2012 it became known that the head coach of the Makhachkala team, Guus Hiddink, did not fly to Dagestan for the match Anji - Spartak , but he was led by Petrovich , victory with a score of 2: 1 won “Anji” [7] .
