Biography
Giuseppina Morlacci was born in Milan, graduated from the ballet school of the La Scala theater. She made her stage debut in Genoa in 1856. In the years 1867-1872 she toured the United States. Morlacky was the first dancer to perform the cancan on the American stage [1] .
In 1872, Morlacky played in the play "Scouts of the Prairies", which was attended by writer Ned Buntline , scouts and hunters Buffalo Bill and Texas Jack . In 1873, Morlacky and Omohundro got married. The couple settled in Lowell (Massachusetts) and bought another house in Leadville (Colorado). After the death of her husband in 1880 in Lidville, Morlacky returned to Lowell, where she lived with her sister. She died of cancer in 1886.
