Linnanmäki ( Finn. Linnanmäki , Swede. Borgbacken ; literal translation into Russian Castle Hill ) is an amusement park located in Finland in the city of Helsinki . The park was opened on May 27, 1950 and is owned by the non-profit organization Lasten Päivän Säätiö (Children's Day Fund). There are 43 different attractions on the territory of Lynnanmäki Park, designed for different ages and height [1] . There are other entertainment and services in the park, such as games and gaming machines, restaurants, kiosks, shops and an outdoor stage. In the summer, popular performers perform on an open stage. In 2007, the park was visited by 1.2 million guests [2] , and the collection in 2015 amounted to 4.1 million euros [3] . Today, Lynnanmäki is the largest amusement park in Northern Europe . It has become an important social project created on the initiative of the Children's Day. Linnanmäki’s profit is spent on charity [4] .
Attractions and entertainment
Currently, Lynnanmäki Park has 43 attractions [5] , along with other attractions [2] . One of Linnanmyaki's most famous attractions is the Vuoristorata wooden roller coaster. This is the most recognizable symbol of the park, and one of the first attractions installed in the park. The oldest attraction in Lynnanmäki is the Karuselli , built in 1896. [2]
There are many extreme attractions in Lynnanmäki , such as Raketti (“Rocket”) (the old name for Space Shot is “Flight into Space”) [2] , which is a free-fall tower with a pneumatic mechanism [6] , built in 1999 by S&S Power There are various roller coasters in the park - Tulireki (“Fire Sleigh ”), Linnunrata (“Milky Way” - indoor roller coasters with a space theme), Pikajuna (“Fast Train”) and the first in Finland rafting track “ Vonkaputous ” (“С Gorka in Water ”). Entrance to the amusement park and to the observation tower Panoraama is free [7] . In order to ride on the rides, you must purchase a one-time ticket for the ride or a special control bracelet. Many attractions have a growth restriction, and the cost of the bracelet depends on the growth of the visitor - the higher it is, the more attractions it will be able to visit. [2] Adults accompanying a child with a control bracelet to an attraction for children below 100 cm can ride the same attractions for free [7] .
On the territory of the park, the Sea life [2] aquarium was built, where you can see the inhabitants of the depths of tropical seas and oceans collected from around the world [8] . The park also houses the Peacock Teatteri Theater, famous for its musical performances [2] .
In 2007, new Kirnu roller coasters were built in the park [9] . This is the Zacspin model of the famous Swiss company Intamin . Other changes that took place in 2007 are the transfer of the classic attraction "Autodrom" ( Autorata ) to a new site near the Ferris wheel. In 2008, the new Salama Roller Coaster ("Lightning") company Maurer Söhne , which specializes in revolving booth rides, was launched in Lynnanmyaki. [2]
In 2010, Lynnanmäki Park celebrated its 60th anniversary [2] .
On May 27, 2011, the new Ukko roller coaster ("Lord of the Sky") was launched [2] .
