Supported Formats
In version 0.4.0, they are supported (but not everything is included in the default settings):
- Raster graphics : JPEG , PNG ,?;
- ASCII graphics
- Video : converted to WebM format using gstreamer ; a link for downloading the source file is offered;
- Audio: encoded in Ogg / Vorbis format, and published in a WebM container; The spectrogram is used as an icon.
- 3D models ( STL and OBJ )
- PDF (using PDF.js ), which also converts files from formats supported by LibreOffice (if the latter is installed)

- 2012-12-20 - version 0.3.2 with support for 3D models (STL and OBJ), collections and APIs; [five]
- 2013-03-12 - version 0.3.3 "Pixel Party" with improvements to the interface, API and performance, without unnecessary video transcoding. [6]
- 2013-06-17 - version 0.4.0: Hall of the Archivist with PDF support and what can be converted to PDF using LibreOffice ; new plug-in system; relative indication of time, etc. [7]
- 2013-07-10 - version 0.4.1 with corrections;
- 2013-09-05 - version 0.5.0 of "Goblin Force", much is highlighted in the form of plugins; [eight]

Future
It is planned that sites based on MediaGoblin will interact using the OStatus standard, used, for example, by sites based on pump.io and StatusNet , such as Identi.ca . [10] [11]
