Nikola Dobrovich ( Serb. Nikola Dobroviћ ; February 12, 1897 , Pecs , Austria-Hungary - January 11, 1967 , Belgrade ) - one of the most famous Serbian architects of the 20th century. Member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (1961), Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (1962).

Biography
He began to study architecture in 1915 in Budapest . In connection with the events of the First World War , he continued his studies at the Higher Technical School in Prague , which he graduated in 1923. Until 1934 he worked as an architect.
He returned to Yugoslavia and settled in Dubrovnik . During the Second World War he took part in the National Liberation Movement in Yugoslavia ( Serb. ). Since October 1944, he worked on rebuilding the country as head of the Department of Architecture of the Federal Ministry of Construction. At the end of 1945 - Director of the Institute of Urban Planning of the People’s Republic of Serbia , after creating a separate design institute in Belgrade, he became its first director and chief architect of the city.
Since 1948 - Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Belgrade .
Individual works
The author of the development of urban planning principles of New Belgrade (late 1940s), master plans for the cities of Stip ( 1952 ) and Herceg Novi ( 1957 ).
Created a number of public buildings:
- Masaryk House in Prague (1928),
- Hostel of Yugoslav students in Prague (1928),
- Grand Hotel and Villa "Spring" on about. Lopud near Dubrovnik, (1936-1939),
- Villa "Mermaid" in Dubrovnik, (1938),
- Restoration of the Sponza Palace in Dubrovnik (1939),
- Secretariat of the General Staff of the National Defense in Belgrade, (1956-1963), etc.
