Pierre Alain Volonda ( French Pierre-Alain Volondat ; born July 28, 1962 , Wuzon , Loire and Cher ) is a French pianist .

He studied at the Orleans and Paris Conservatories. In 1983 he became a laureate of the Queen Elizabeth International Competition .
The greatest fame brought Pierre Alain Wolond his interpretation of the music of Gabriel Foret . He also recorded a number of works by Clementi , Chopin , Liszt , Ravel , Debussy .
According to music critic Hubert Kulot,
Wolond’s musical merits were never in doubt, but he made the impression of literally breathing the air of some other planet, and the halo of mystery that accompanied him puzzled many [1] .
